Case Study – Example One
Today, I share a case of sudden deafness:
A 46-year-old female, employed as a radiologist at Verdun Hospital, presented to Nan’an Clinic on February 21, 2025.
Chief Complaint: On November 20, 2024, she suddenly lost hearing in her right ear. Western medicine attributed this to a viral infection and treated her with three rounds of high-dose corticosteroids, which restored most of her hearing; however, after the medication was discontinued, her hearing deteriorated again.
Examination: The cervical curvature was straightened, the spinous process of C2 was noticeably protruding, and the mastoids on both sides of the skull were not level. Both cervical spine and cranial MRI scans showed no abnormalities.
Conclusion: Spinal-origin deafness
Treatment: Cervical massage and osteopathic manipulation were used to restore the cervical curvature and balance the mastoids. Treatment sessions were conducted on the 21st, 26th, and 28th.
Current Outcome: The patient reported noticeable improvement after the first treatment, and following three sessions, her hearing has improved by at least 30%. She found it incredible that simply manipulating her neck, without any medication, could yield such results, and was advised to continue treatment.
Summary: Her occupation is disclosed to underscore that as a radiologist, her examinations were reliable and accurate. At the same time, I reiterate that the boundaries of spinal diseases are not yet fully defined—please pay attention to spinal health.
Exercise and Health Wellness Training Camp
The “Yi Zhuo Tang” Family Health Plan has been completely upgraded! Join us once a month to step into nature, stay in a comfortable chalet, and immerse yourself in a “Four-Dimensional Wellness Experience” (physical exercise, breathing regulation, emotional balance, and dietary optimization). While you focus on your career, we will professionally safeguard your health. “Yi Zhuo Tang” is here to support your well-being!
Basic Concept:
- Hold the event once a month—arrive on Saturday afternoon and depart on Sunday afternoon—with no fewer than 10 sessions over the course of one year.
- Each session emphasizes different exercise focuses for the evening, morning, and midday:
- In the evening: follow a light diet, engage in stretching exercises, avoid electronic devices, and aim to sleep around 10 PM.
- In the morning: wake up at 6 AM, complete your morning routine, and read aloud for 30 to 50 minutes, accompanied by a bowl of Zhuque Soup; from 7 to 9 AM, participate in traditional wellness exercises.
- After a 9 AM breakfast, attend lectures on exercise theory and practice, with individual adjustments made during the session, interspersed with nuts and snacks.
- After lunch (before 2 PM), I will personally provide body conditioning to each participant; depart the chalet around 5 PM.
- A teaching assistant will remind everyone about daily exercise in our group, and regular body conditioning sessions will be held at West Island and Nan’an Clinic.
- Objective: To help everyone develop a habit of combining exercise with body conditioning through concentrated activities over a period of time, thereby alleviating suboptimal conditions such as lower back pain and enabling a more relaxed approach to life and work.
